The youngest at the start, or applications for the Gdańsk Junior Marathon are starting! The races for the youngest are scheduled for Saturday (April 5, 2025) from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The young athletes will finish at the finish line located at the Polsat Plus Arena in Gdańsk.
The distances of the races have been adapted to the age of the children. The youngest aged 1 to 6 will run 200 m, while children aged 7 to 11 will compete over a distance of 500 m, and the oldest aged 12 to 15 will face a 1,000 m route.
How to register a child for the race?
Registrations are conducted on the www.timerecords.pl platform. Children are registered for the races by their parents, legal guardians or coaches. The first step is to create an account in the system for a parent, coach or legal guardian, and then register the child for the race. Each parent, legal guardian or coach can register any number of children for the race.
Is the age of the child a factor in the registration for the race?
According to the Gdańsk Marathon Junior regulations, the age category is not determined by the date of birth, but by the year of birth. Below is a detailed list of age groups and distances for each age group:
Children aged 1-6 – 200 m run – year of birth: 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019
Children aged 7-11 – 500 m run – year of birth: 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014
Children aged 12-15 – 1000 m run – year of birth: 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010
What will be the classifications in children’s races?
Children will be classified by gender (girls / boys) in the following age categories: 1-3 years, 4-6 years, 7-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-13 years, 14-15 years.
What time do the individual races start?
All children’s races will take place between 16:30 and 17:30. A detailed schedule of starts for individual distances will be provided on the website by March 15, 2025.
Are group registrations and payment by bank transfer for children’s races possible?
Yes, in the case of group registrations it is possible to pay by one bank transfer to the account. To do this, please contact us in advance at info@gdanskmaraton.com
