The marathon is a true celebration of runners. Completing the race on the royal distance of 42,195 m is a dream of many amateur runners. After a two-year break, the race on this distance will be held in Gdańsk again in 2025. The city of Gdańsk has unique pages in its history. It was here that World War II began on September 1, 1939, and it was here that the first independent, self-governing trade unions in Poland were established. Finally, it was in Gdańsk that the social changes that gave impetus to other European societies were initiated, which brought down the Berlin Wall or restored independence to the Baltic republics – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. That is why the seventh edition of the Gdańsk marathon will be held under the slogan “Run in the city of freedom!”

The accompanying event of the Gdańsk Marathon 2025 will be a run over a distance of approximately 5 km. The start and finish of the run will be located at Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk. Participants in the 5 km run will set off on the route shortly after the start of the marathon, will cover part of the marathon route and will finish at the same finish line as participants in the Gdańsk Marathon 2025.

The 5 km run route will not have a Polish Athletics certificate. The route will be measured using GPS devices.
